A Tipsy Trio For National Sausage Week

National Sausage Week

Etherington’s, based in Wheal Rose near Scorrier, are a nominated supplier with St Austell Brewery, and the two businesses have now teamed up to launch a trio of tipsy new sausages, in time for national Sausage Week running 4th – 10th November.

As a family run business, Etherington’s, pride themselves on producing and supplying high quality meats from locally reared and rare breed animals, supplied throughout Cornwall and on sale within their Farm Shop.

Etherington’s are extremely passionate about local produce, so were delighted when they were selected to combine their locally reared meat with the locally brewed ales of St Austell Brewery, to create an unforgettable range of Cornish sausages for this national event.

Mark Etherington, Managing Director of Etherington’s is pleased with results saying:

“Local produce and supporting other local businesses is extremely important to Etherington’s and this an exciting new direction for both us and St Austell Brewery. This opportunity has allowed us to bring together a combination of fantastic Cornish flavours that we are extremely proud to have achieved.”

Mark continued, “The sausages are made from the finest meats at Etherington’s and are combined with the brilliant ales of St Austell Brewery- making for the perfect blend of flavours. The hearty range of sausages will offer a delicious twist to a range of classic household dishes and will steal the show for Sausage Week which starts on the 4th of November.”

Dennis Elliot, who has 50 years’ experience in making sausages and represents the British Pig Executive, was invited to join Etherington’s and St Austell Brewery to offer his expert advice in order to create the recipe for success.

St Austell Brewery selected their favourite ales from their wide range of award-winning cask and bottled ales choosing 1913 stout, Proper Job and Admiral Ale.

Nick Hemming, Catering Development Manager of St Austell Brewery is also delighted with the results saying:

“We were very pleased that Dennis Elliot was on-hand with his wealth of experience.  This is a fantastic development for St Austell Brewery and we are proud to have combined our premium ales with the finest meats from Etherington’s. The blend of flavours make the perfect accompaniment to each other and I am sure they will be a big success within the local community and further afield.”

The trio of sausages will be available try at all of St Austell Brewery’s managed outlets throughout the county and also available to purchase from Etherington’s Farm Shop.
