Etherington’s bespoke butchery courses in Cornwall draw upon over 60 years of expert knowledge, from nose to tail.
Courses are held in our bespoke butchery classroom, situated next door to our award-winning farm shop. Both of which were part of a huge investment in 2012 to expand the business and to future proof traditional butchery skills in Cornwall and further afield.
Each course provides students with the opportunity to get stuck into butchery, learning about different cuts, quality control and knife skills.Whether you’re making sausages, or cutting the finest fillet of beef – Etherington’s butchery courses are designed to give you a good knowledge of the carcass and the skills needed to tackle meat back home in your kitchen.
Students will receive a starter butchery kit, including knife and apron, to get them started in the kitchen – as well as some sample cuts of meat that they have butchered themselves to take home.
Butchery courses make great gifts too, why not buy one of our Gift vouchers?
“Mastering the infamous ‘butcher’s knot’ also brought a smile to my face but like I said, watching Frank take apart a hind of Tregullow Ruby Red Beef was probably the afternoon’s piece de resistance”
“If you had told me that after a day learning the skills of a butcher I would have felt quite so educated, proud of my achievements and, perhaps more surprisingly, had so much fun dissecting a pig, I would have said you had never been rasher (sorry…).”
