In 1954, Etherington Meats began as a humble butcher delivering door-to-door from a van, quickly earning a reputation for quality and service. This led to the first Etherington’s Farm Shop, and as demand grew, the business moved to its current home in Wheal Rose, Scorrier, in 1992.
While our roots lie in traditional Cornish butchery, our dedication to supporting the wider catering industry naturally led us to expand into frozen foods. What started as a small complementary range has grown into one of the South West’s most comprehensive frozen food portfolios, serving restaurants, caterers, schools, hospitals and hospitality businesses across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and the Isles of Scilly.
As demand increased, our original walk-in freezer could no longer meet customer needs. To support the region’s growing foodservice sector, we invested in a purpose-built cold store, expanding our pallet capacity from 180 to 480. This upgrade allowed us to maintain strong stock levels, widen our range and ensure reliable delivery throughout the South West. It also enabled us to grow our own frozen lines, including our popular Cornish pasties and BBQ ribs.
Today, we proudly partner with trusted brands such as Koffman’s, Gourmand, Sykes Seafood, Ardo, Rondanini and Greci — ensuring every frozen product meets the same high Etherington’s standards as our fresh meat.
